Jamestown...Where is James?

We went to Jamestown & Yorktown last week with the entire 4th grade from Emma's school. We took Hannah & Samuel out of school for the day and we even brought Dad along! We had a wonderful time trying to explain to Samuel why "James" wasn't at home and how come the "aliens" (Indians) didn't wear feathers OR kidnap Peter Pan. Just let me tell you, Indians grinding corn is a sore disappointed to a 4-year old boy. No banshee yells? No tomahawks? He was hoping for a bit more action.

The Jamestown/Williamsburg area is saturated with American history and can be an overwhelming place to visit if you don't allow for several days to take it in. Right now, Jamestown is preparing for the 400th Year Anniversary Celebration which should prove to be very impressive. We haven't visited Colonial Williamsburg in several years but we have plans to do so this summer. We love it!
