Status Report

Sitting... a foreign concept but if it happens, it is mostly at the computer but also in my car A LOT for the past couple of weeks.

Drinking...Coffee

Noting...a grocery list ... I will be out for several hours today and I need some productivity to happen. I waited for it to just "happen" yesterday but apparently a list is a necessary component.

Weighing...well not myself that's fur-shur.

Tired...like you would not believe and out of breath all the time. Stairs are an Olympic event and carrying Benjamin up those stairs should elicit a round of applause.

Thinking...about changes. So many that are close to me are going through great trials and changes. My thoughts are heavy and I am struggling to remind myself ... His ordained plans shall come to pass and bring Him glory ... this too shall pass.

Wondering...if my doctor would allow me to forgo the whole getting on the scale ordeal. It makes me grouchy.

It also makes me want to drive through Sonic and plow through the dollar menu.

Reading.. This Momentary Marriage by John Piper. I know I should be finished with this already but Chris and I are reading it together and he always has a couple of other books in his pipeline. He is a very studious and serious kind of person.

Recently finished...The last book I finished was A Sane Woman's Guide to Raising a Large Family. Since that was a couple of months ago you could deduce that I am not a speedy reader.

Also wondering...How to keep myself from buying things like this ...

I double-dog dare you to stop me from putting this little cotton-tailed outfit on my baby girl, come springtime.

I. DARE. YOU.

Needing... A week at home without the runnin' and gunnin'. I have some projects that need tending to, but they require hours at a time and not minutes. I find myself with 56 minutes or 23 minutes and that is barely enough time to change out laundry or thaw out some chicken.

Since I excuse myself from getting an actual task accomplished, I usually end up spending 23 or 56 minutes milking a diet Dr. Pepper while watching a recorded episode of Food Network Star.

Since it's all I have time for.

Not liking...All the Michael Jackson coverage. Sorry. We have the entire MJ collection from iTunes so you cannot say we aren't fans of his music. Still, the insanity of the coverage should be a glaring reminder of what kind of importance our culture places on the famous ... and famous for what? Don't get me started.

Leslie posted this on facebook and I thought it was pretty funny ;)

Feeling silly...For ranting about cell phones and teenagers. Cause now my teenagers both have cell phones and we love them. They love them in a hound dog loves the smell of blood sort-of way and I love them because we are able to stay connected through texting when I leave them somewhere.

We have very clear boundaries and a very limited number of folks who are in contact with our children.

Oh. And our children bought their own phones and pay monthly towards the bill.

On that note...I am off to prepare my house for another day of runnin' and gunnin'. The girls have been participating in a drama camp in the West End of Richmond which has required a daily drive time of approximately 3 hours. In that time I have grown to LOVE LOVE LOVE this new song by David Crowder.

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

How to keep from buying the smocked dresses? Make them! The bunny one? There's no way I could resist that!

And, beautiful David Crowder song! Thanks!

Those dresses are adorable!

The reason I love that little cartoon is because as we were watching the news break re:MJ's death, Karl said about Shep Smith, "He's reading that straight from his wiki page." Not only that, but the video clips on FoxNews were from youtube!

As a mom of boys, never having reason to buy such frilly delights, I would definitely be buying them all!!!!

We are also so glad for our teenagers to have cell phones. Well worth the drawbacks.

LOVE your status report!
