Emma Says...

Emma comes home from school yesterday with the alarming news that someone is tellin' LIES about her and startin' rumors! Momma bear is ready for the worst. I am remembering the days of my youth when my dad took me to school in his bread truck and small mutants other kids would tease me and say that I lived in the trailer of the truck. Why did this mortify me to such a degree? These were the kids who had ear wax leftover from their infancy and never ever had sweet notes in their lunchboxes from their momma's like I did. Come to think of it, I don't even know if they had lunchboxes.....or mommas.

Still, somehow their opinion counted. So on this day, I am ready and emotionally engaged as Emma shares her woes.

---pause---deep sigh & said with increasing volume, "So-And-So is telling Hoo-Dee-Hoo that I tuck up into my handstand when I do my handstand, forward roll, pike press-up!!!!!---pause---deep sigh

I wait for the sucker-punch. Where's the *below-the-belt* cut down? They didn't say anything about yo' momma or your last name??? Oh well, I guess this is......

"Tumblin' Trash Talk" at it's best.

I love the drama of girls. Sometimes it is hard not to laugh at the "crisis". How did our mother's survive our teenage years?
What was God thinking when he gave me two girls? Questions that will not be answered I'm sure.
