Our family is blessed with Karl's aunt who plays the piano beautifully. I love it when we all get together--sometimes she'll sit down and we'll all pick our parts and sing our favorite songs. She's the kind of pianist who can play anything if she knows how it sounds--just call out a song. Good times. When Karl's granddad passed away last year, singing together was healing to me.
I came into the room one afternoon after the girls had practiced their duet and was struck by the two chairs pushed together where they each had sat. Another season of life that I purposed in my memory, so as to not forget the sweetness of it.
They are so incredibly different and are often at odds with one another. However, when they play music together, they must be constantly aware of where the other one is, gently slowing down or speeding up in order to be harmonious. It has been such a blessing to see them develop their skills at the piano but what a greater joy to see them mature as sisters!

I love the scroll work on the chairs. Happy WW Day.

What a beautiful picture of togetherness and harmony. Very original!
